19 Oct 2006

Shalom,

My name is Michael Oberman. I have two brothers in Israel, Johnny Oberman lives in kibbutz Lavi and Barney Oberman lives in Kiryat Ono. My brother Johnny sent me a copy of The Finger on the Pulse Sept-Oct 2006. I enjoyed reading all the articles in the newsletter.

The article which prodded my memory was the letter from Paul and Esther Vardin. I remember them as Pinchas Rosenkranz and Esther Konawal. They were leaders at a Habonim camp that I attended at a place called Warrandyte, near the Yarra, back in the late forties when I was a young teenager.

My oldest brother Leslie, also in Melbourne, made Aliyah to Kfar Hanassi and was one of the earliest members.

I hope that my brothers will send me further copies of the newsletters when they become available.

Best regards and a happy and peaceful new year to all Israel,

Michael Oberman

Looking for an Old Friend

Frank Stein recently received an email from someone wishing to re-establish contact with Sandra Catts. Sandra made Aliyah around the same time as the person who wrote to us – around 1960-1961. Her married name is unknown but rumour has it that she resides in the Haifa area.

If anyone knows where she can be contacted, please let us know.
